Camping

We went camping this weekend. It was HOT!!!! We didn't think we were going, then last minuet our friend said he had an extra tent, so we went. We ended up taking Tommy because it was so last minuet. We didn't have anything ready, so we it was a big rush, and we ended up getting to camp late. We didn't eat until about 8 30 or so. It was hot, I can't say that enough. Tommy threw a big fit and was crying when I tried to get him to go to sleep. He was all hot and sticky and uncomfortable, I didn't blame him one bit. FINALLY at about midnight, he fell asleep. Then the rest of us went to bed. I laid in the tent sweating soo bad. It was miserable. I was so tired and couldn't sleep because I was sticking to the blanket I was laying on. Well I FINALLY dozed off, then some drunk stupid people decided that 2am was a good time to jump in the lake (which was right by our camp site). They were yelling and screaming. They woke up the WHOLE camp ground. People would tell them to please stop and they would just laugh and get louder ( I REALLY hate disrespectful people!!) This went on for a about 2 hours. Ofcourse Tommy was woken up around 3 30 and I don't think he ever went back to sleep. We know of atleast 3 people that called the police. We ended up getting up for the day about 6 45. Bla. It was so hot the next day, and Tommy was miserable, so I called my mom and dad, and they said they would meet me at my house and take Tommy for the day. So I brought him, and the dogs home, gave Tommy a bath, then went back to camp and watch Jason and our friends fish. Then we went back to camp, talked for a while, packed up our stuff, loaded the car, then went fishing for a bit, then came home. We decided not to stay the 2nd night cause it was awfully hot. It ended up storming anyway. We put Tommy to bed at 9, we went to bed about 10 30, and we all slept till almost 11am. I guess we all were just worn out! I am glad to be home!

5 mile

Shannon and I started walking today. Well, I think she started a few days ago, but I joined her today. We have been talking about it for awhile, and I'm glad we got started. We set out for about a 45 minuet walk, and ended up walking for an hour and a half. We walked 5 miles. I was really surprised. It didn't really feel like it. I am feeling it a bit now, but I feel good about it. I think it didn't seem like it took so long because we were talking the whole time. Walking is actually kind of fun when you have a friend beside you. :)

Our trip

Wednesday we left for St. Louis right after lunch so that nap time would be in the car. That actually worked really well. We got into town, checked into our motel (more about that later) then went to our first of three trips to Jack-in-the-Box. Yeah, I know. After running to Walgreen's for some antacids, we went to a really cool little play ground to meet a friend. We let the kids play for a while, then headed back to our motel. We got there, and realized how crummy the place was. It was a non-smoking room, only it smelled horribly of smoke, there was a DIRTY ASHTRAY on the night stand, AND several burn holes in the bedding. That was only the beginning. There was no chain on the door, so Tommy was able to just open it. AND it was the outside entrance kind so there was the parking lot. It was just gross. We decided that we didn't want to stay there, so Jason went to the front desk to talk to them. He came back and told me to go up there because it was paid with my debit card, so they needed me. By the time I got back up there, the security guard was up there, and she was kind of a rip, and started giving me crap. She wasn't even employed by the motel, just a rent a cop thing. The poor girl at the counter was very apologetic, and as soon as the guard left, she gave me my money back, and we were on our way to a WAY nicer place, for not much more money. We got up Thursday and went to see Bigfoot, the monster truck.

The kids (and Jason) really enjoyed that. After that we went on a tour of the Anheuser Busch brewery.

There is a part that is REALLY cold, and my sweet boy said "This isn't a brewery, this is a BURRRRRERY!" HAHAHAHAHA I laughed for quite a while about that one! When we were done with that, we drove around for 1 1/2 hours so the kids could get a nap in. Then we met my friend and her daughter for dinner at a Chinese place. Not nearly as good as Red Fortune, but it was ok. Then it was off to the Arch.

I had major anxiety about going up in it. I have been there before, but I really hate heights. We watched the movie about them building it and was amazed at the fact that none of the men had harnesses on. They were just walking around 600 ft off the ground like it was nothing. I was surprised to learn that the made it thru the whole building process with all their men.

Friday, we got up and went to The City Museum.

It was a really neat place. Tommy wasn't too thrilled at first because it was so big, but Trent really had a great time. I would definitely recommend it to those with older kids. For lunch that day was Jack-in-the-Box #2. Then we drove around again so the kids could nap. Around 4 we met my friend and her daughter again at the zoo.

Saturday we got up (wayy late) ate breakfast then I did a little shopping with my friend. We were planning on leaving right after lunch for home, but since we got up late, lunch didn't happen until after 3. We ate at P'sghetti's with my friend (which is a yummy place by the way) and headed for home. Poor Tommy was completely not himself by Saturday. There were lots of fits and tiredness. I think he is back to normal now tho. Ohh Jack-in-the-Box #3 happened on the way out of town. Let me explain, it's one of Jason's favorite places, and since we don't have them here, I guess we decided to just burn ourselves out on it while we were there. :) Oh and yes, I now have a "Jack ball" on my car antenna.

It was a great trip, and we all really had a great time!

New Layout

I decided to change my layout because I am tired of only seeing half of my pictures. I don't know why I can't get them to fit, but now I don't have to worry about it.

We got back from St. Louis today, it's 1am and I can't sleep. I have been longing for my own bed, and now I am just not tired. Go figure. I guess I have just had alot on my mind, and I can't get my brain to turn off. I don't really have anything to say. I will post pics of St. Louis soon. :)
