I hate yellow now

Ok, not really but I just got done with the last coat of the primer/oops that color is horrid, color. It really looks pretty terrible in there. I am getting a lighter color tomorrow and hopefully it will tone it down. Wish me luck!

New Bible

A few weeks ago, I joined an awesome book trading website called http://www.paperbackswap.com/. It is awesome! You post books that you have that you don't want anymore. Then you look at books that other people have posted. When you find something, your order it, and they send it to you. Easy as that. When someone wants one of your books, you send it to them. You pay to ship to ship your books, but you don't pay anything to have books shipped to you. Does that make sense? There is no money exchanged. I love it.

Anyhoo. I have been looking for a new Bible. I found the NIV Women's Devotional Bible on there and I ordered. I got a message from the lady who posted it saying that she had written a couple verses in the front cover in pen, and asked me if I still wanted it. I told her that it was fine, and that I still wanted it.

So, it came today. I opened the cover and written inside was my favorite verse. One that really helps me thru hard times. I had to email her and tell her how happy I was to open the Bible, and see it in there. :)

Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
Philippians 6:4

Bananas anyone?

Yesterday marked our 3 year anniversary of signing the papers on our house, (it was also Jason's b-day). We have been in this house for 3 years. And, for 3 years, I have HATED our hall bathroom. I don't even like being in there. We were in a hurry to move in, and didn't want to spend alot of money, and the previous owners had freshly painted the bathroom light blue. So we weren't in a hurry to paint it, we just wanted to move in and get settled. Well, that was 3 years ago. It also has the 1970s, brass, ugly, hanging light fixtures in there. I hate them, but we never did anything about them. One reason was, we were working on paying off all of our debt, so we kind of let our house go. Now that we are debt free (woo woo) we have a little extra money to work on our house.

The past few weeks we have been discussing living room/entry way/ hallway colors. We are being picky about it because we only want to do it once. But last night, while in the bathroom, I decided that it needed to be yellow, to go along with the duck decor we have in there. I went and got some sample cards and we picked out the color. I picked a little brighter yellow because there are no windows in there, and it always seems dull to me. Yes, well, we went to Home Depot and got all of the painting supplies. Jason had yard work to do, and I tackled the bathroom on my own. I taped off the trim and all of that fun stuff and started the painting.

First of all....neither of us even thought about getting a primer. Mostly because the blue is really really light. Well, painting yellow over blue, you get.....yellow with green tint. Fun stuff. Let me tell you. So, I get the first coat on, and start of the second coat, and all of a sudden, I start smelling banana. LOL Seriously, I did. It was the weirdest thing. But yes. It's REALLY yellow. We are letting it dry compleletly before we make any decicions about it. But I decided, if all else fails, I can toss the duck decor and get Spongebob stuff. Yes that is the color yellow it is.

For all you haters!

I just want to let you know. Tommy and I were at walmart, and this lady stopped us and went on and on about how CUTE Tommy's hair is. I told her that several people said I need to cut it. She said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO WAY WOULD I EVER CUT THAT. IT'S SO CUTE!!

HA!! That's all I'm saying!! :P

you will NOT break my spirit

Good thing I am in a good mood today, or this evening may have sucked really bad. We went out to dinner with my mother in law. We went to my favorite Chinese place. I was looking forward to it all day. So, we get there, Tommy was very grumpy. He usually really loves it there (yes, we go there alot) but he just wasn't having any of it tonight. About half way thru, he stands up, grabs his bottom and says "uhhhhhhhhh" Well, of course, he pooped. So I took him to the bathroom and took care of that. Not too long after I get back to the table, Trent says he isn't feeling good, then directly followed by about 5 minuets of throwing up. At the table. Then he goes in the bathroom and throws up some more! While I am in there, my wonderful mother in law is cleaning up the mess in the booth. There was alot! Oh my I was embarrassed. We were trying to not draw any extra attention to ourselves, but I don't know how well that worked. Then, they brought over suckers for the kids, and Tommy ate part of his, then dropped it and SCREAMED!!! He said "WAAAAAAAAA UH OH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA UH OH" So yeah, more embarrassment. Needless to say, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I left them a pretty good tip. I'm still in a good mood. :)

Good

I feel good today. I don't think I have said that in a long time. I just feel good. Maybe it's becasue I didn't have to get up early to get Trent ready for school in time for the bus. I don't know. Yesterday was a pretty bad day, and I am just tired of feeling that way. I am tired of waiting for other people to make me feel better. I didn't realize that I do that, but I really think I do. I have a really hard time not letting other people's feeling and emotions become mine. There is a very thin line between caring about someone elses stuff, and becoming over involved to the point where what they are feeling becomes what I am feeling. So anyway, yeah it's a good day. :D

So yea

I went to the dr today really excited that I was going to get an appointment with the GI dr, and FINALLY figure out my problem. WRONG! I gotta tell you, either this lady isn't listening to what I am saying, or she just doesn't care. I'm not sure which, but I spent much of the afternoon crying from frustration. I'm not sure what I should do next. I think I will just go see someone else in the office. She isn't my regular dr anyway. I just feel really let down.

Back to the dr tomorrow

Well, I was supposed to wait 2 weeks to go back to the Dr, but I am going back tomorrow. I can't do this anymore. The pills that she gave me last time are not doing me any good. I am tired of my stomach hurting. It's constant and everyday. The Dr told me that if it does not get better with these pills, she is going to send me to the GI Dr. I wish she would have done that in the first place. I am ready to get this under control, and feel better.

envelopes

I figured I would give the ol' envelope system a go. I don't know why, but I have never really gotten on board with "giving every penny a name". I have done well with getting x amount of cash out every paycheck and only spending that. I don't divide it up, I just get groceries, then spend the rest on whatever. But I was thinking, I still think I spend more than I should even tho I have the cash for it. So I dusted out the envelope wallet thingy that we got last year at the Dave Ramsey live event, and split up the money. We also have the leather one, but for some reason, the slots for cards is sticky, so I am just using the regular one. I am determined to make this work. :)

For some reason I got stir crazy around 5:30 and decided to go to Shawnee. I needed to go, I just wasn't planning on it today. But, we went. I had to go to Sears because the vacuum I have takes bags only sold at Sears. That is kind of a bummer, but it's a great vacuum so I will deal with it. Then we went to Petsmart to get "skunk off" for Tucker. He is a smelly boy! Both dogs were also in need of new collars. We like the kind that are mostly regular collars, but about 1/4 of it is choke chain. They don't make pink ones. Which stinks because Maddie is my only female companion in this house, so I want her to have pink stuff. But they don't make them in pink, so I was going to go for purple. Yea, the only purple ones they had were for really big dogs. :( I even asked the guy working there if they had more in the back. He asked if I was wanting them to match or something. I said, no, I just wanted a girl color. He laughed at me. LOL I would have laughed at me too. He said he would call for me and see when he was going to get more in and I could wait, but I thought it would be silly to make another trip up there just for a different color. So, she got a black one, and Tucker got a green one. Tomorrow we will give Tucker a bath with the skunk remover and hope that it works. Man, he stinks!!

Cats are just better

Well, when we were at church yesterday, Tucker decided that he would somehow get his e-collar off, and chew off all of the staples in his leg. Isn't that fantastic??!?!? So yea, there goes another $60 on this dog. Soo add that too the $160 we spent the first time on him, it goes over our "if it's over $200 we are putting him down" rule. Ok, we wouldn't ACTUALLY do that, but that was the joke. Now it is over $200, and he is still here. This time they put steel stitches in and left them poking out to discourage licking. Apparently it will hurt really bad if he does lick them. They also gave me some stuff called Bitter Orange to rub around there to also keep him from licking them. I just hope we can go the next 10 days without incident so it can heal and he can get that stupid collar off!
Oh and PS, he still smells like skunk. :(

Here he is.......

I need to figure out how to resize pics to actually fit my blog. hmmmmmm well you get the idea :)

Good food, Great friends

I had a great weekend. On Saturday we did a whole lot of running around. We went to Meriam to get a gas cap for Jason's weed eater. He has a werid on apparently, so that was the closest place that had replacement caps for his paticular weed eater. Then we drove around and looked for Oklahoma Joes BBQ. We couldn't find it, so we ended up stopping at this other BBQ place. It was pretty good. I've definately had better BBQ, but it wasn't bad. Then later, we went over to Jarod and Laura's for steak. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. It was also alot of fun getting to know them better. Tommy loved their backyard and pretty much wanted to stay out there the whole time.

Sunday was our last MOPS night out for this season. We went to Jose Peppers. It was lots of fun. It was just the moms. It was really great to get out and be with other moms. Here are a couple pics.

Steak and Friends

I am really excited about tonight. We are going over to Jarod and Laura's go eat some famous Anderson Steak. Yummy. I made caramel apple pie. It is a favorite of Jason, and our holiday crowd. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Trent's last day of school is on Wednesday. I can't believe it's over already. He did awesome in school this year, and I hope that he continues to love school as much as he does now. He has been reading books that are the second grade reading list. I would say that is pretty good considering he is in Kindergarten. He sure amazes me sometimes.

Tommy's vocabulary has more than doubled since he had tubes put back in. I can't believe that his poor ears were so clogged with gunk that it was effecting his hearing. I'm glad we made the decision to go ahead and have it done, even tho I was really struggling with it. I was mostly just scared of him having to be put under for the surgery. I am so glad that it is over with, and am really happy he can hear, and talk now.

Ok Well then

I guess I will jump back on board the Blogger train. I was on Livejournal, but I don't like it much either. But, since everyone else seems to be on here, I will be too. We are in the process of getting the horrid skunk smell out of our dogs, so they can come be in the house instead of stuck outside, or in the kitchen on the hard floor. Dogs suck, just so you know. If anyone is thinking of getting a dog, get a cat instead! Cats are so much better. Low maintence. I like that.
