One of many I am sure.....
I like to read. I like books that can be read in many short periods of time. I have 3 kids, and finding a quiet spot to read just isn't going to happen. I really enjoy "chick lit" even though I really didn't think I would. I also like books that help me become a better person, mother, wife, child of God. I don't care for books that make me sad or that are overly dramatic.
Something I have never really been into is classic books. I have not read very many classic books, mostly because they take place A LONG TIME AGO and I get bored and fall asleep. However, I do think I should read some of them. So, that is my goal. To read at least 10 classic books in 2011.
My 2011 Classic Reading List ( I don't own any of these books, so if anyone has some that I can borrow that would be awesome.)
Gulliver's Travels ~ I picked this first because the movie is coming out, and Trent wants to read the book.
Tom Sawyer ~ I know, I know. I can't believe I haven't read that one either...
Pride and Prejudice
A Tale of Two Cities ~ I believe I was supposed to read this in High School....
To Kill a Mockingbird ~ and this one......
Little Women ~ I actually HAVE read this one, but I want to read it again
Moby Dick
Rebecca
The Scarlett Letter
A Midsummer Night's Dream

What to blog??
Shannon suggested today that I blog pictures of our newly redone bathrooms. Yeah, I should get on that.....
I have, for the past several days, started to blog only to delete it and move on. I don't really have anything worthwhile to talk about. I need a new header, and does anyone read this anyway?.
I have spent a good portion of the day cleaning out our (ONE ACK!) basement closet, and laundry room. I have tubs (many! Thanks everyone :) of girl clothes that are anxiously awaiting a sweet, little, blue eyed girl to wear them, that were stacked behind the laundry room door. Hmm, I thought, I sure would like a folding table in my laundry room. That way, I could take stuff out of the dryer, fold it and everyone could put their own pile away. So, in order to get said table, I needed to clean out the (ONE ACK!!) closet we use for storage. There was several things in there that I could for sure get rid of, like the blue high chair and booster. Then there was a whole big box of my old dolls and stuffed animals. I went thru that box and got out the stuff that (wipe a tear away) can be cleaned up and given to Emilee. Then I decided which animals that I just couldn't part with and put them in a tub, and the rest are going to Goodwill. Now there is a manageable tote instead of a huge cardboard box that will get smashed if I try to put something on top of it. I also weeded out some High School stuff that doesn't really matter to me, and just kept the yearbooks, pictures and a few papers that I wrote in English class, that I had a good laugh reading. All of that fit nicely in a small tub instead of, again, a old cardboard box. I successfully made enough room to put the clothes tubs in there, with some left over even. :)
P.S. ~ I will post pics of the bathroom as soon as I can find my camera.............

Good Morning
Nothing starts the day off better than Alisa's Pumpkin Pancakes (I'm not going to link her recipe because I think you should have to search her awesome blog for it so you don't miss anything). Seriously, they are soo good. Hubby really enjoys waking up to the smell of coffee and pancakes! :) I am making an effort to actually get up before everyone else and fix a hot breakfast. I am NOT a morning person, so when I say effort, it really is. However, I do find that my day goes so much smoother when I start my day before the shenanigans starts.
I have been trying some new recipes lately. I have found several that we really like, and will be placed in rotation. I ran into this awesome blog, that is full of yummy recipes! This has been my favorite so far, although really they are all good. I am working on a recipe binder. I am trying to compile all my favorite recipes into one place so some day I can give it to my Emilee (squeeeeeeee:). I have had it partially done for a LONG time, but never really finished it, but now that I am finding all these new yummy things to make, I need to get on it.
My friend Megan is back in the states from Germany for the holidays. We spent all day Sunday shopping and it was great! I miss her lots when she is all the way across the water. Emilee and I met up with her at Oak Park mall for a girls day. Emilee was so good. I was shocked. She isn't the easiest baby, but she did so good the whole day. We shopped from noon until about 6pm and she didn't make a peep. I am pretty sure she just loved the one on one time with mama. Yesterday (Monday), however, was probably the most difficult day we have had. She did not want me out of her sight, and it was just a bunch of crying. Hers and mine. :) Still, I am so very thankful for a little baby daughter who loves her mommy. :)

Did you miss me??
So, I haven't blogged since Sept 29th...... My mind doesn't seem capable of producing full thoughts right now, so it's hard to think of anything worthwhile to say. I am trying to get in the mood for Christmas. I'm just not feeling it this year for some reason. I think it's because this past year has FLOWN by, and it feels like I just put Christmas stuff away. Last year I started listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween. This year I have yet to listen to more than one song in a row. I do have all my decorations up tho. :)
Thanksgiving was nice. I got a chance to bond with my brother-in-law. He said he was going to go to Wal-Mart at midnight for Black Friday, so I thought I would tag a long. Jason had NO interest in being in the mob, so he very sweetly said he would stay home with they babies and I could go. It was actually kind of fun. I wasn't big on the massive amount of people touching me as I tried to squeeze thru the crowd, but I did get a few things for cheap.
Emilee is 4 months old. When did that happen? She is such a big girl. She is ready for her Jumperoo, she is playing with rattles and reaching for things, and even sitting up with just a little support. I just love her so much! :)
