The big 4

Tommy had his 4 year check up today. I still can't believe he is 4. Hims just a baby........ OK not really, but it seems like he should be. The Dr. said he looked great. He is in the 25% for height and weight, and that is where he has been since birth. He's a little guy, but healthy so that is good. He still has 7 pounds to grow before he can sit in a booster tho.... I was kind of hoping to have him in there by the time the baby comes, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Oh well.

Trent started reading the Harry Potter books. I bought the first one a long time ago, but he was never interested. He said he saw part of the movie and didn't like it. Since it's summer, I decided I was going to make sure he was reading something other than Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants books, so I told him to start the first one, and if he didn't like it, we could find something else. He started the first one and thought it was boring (it is in the beginning), but kept reading and finished it and said he wanted the second one. I ordered the second one from PAPERBACKSWAP (seriously, if you haven't been there yet, you MUST go!!!) and it arrived yesterday in the mail. It has 430 pages, and he is currently on 327. He started it yesterday evening, and went to bed early, BY CHOICE, so he could read. Then this morning I woke up and he was laying on the couch reading. Usually if the kids wake up before I do, they watch TV, but this morning he CHOSE to read. I was really impressed!! I'm pretty sure he will be done with it today, if not tomorrow for sure. I really love that he enjoys reading so much. We will see if he can stomp out the whole series before school starts. If he keeps up this much interest, it won't be a problem. The 3rd book is in the mail!

33 Week apt

I had my 33 week apt today. This was the 3rd appointment that my weight has been the same. Woo Hoo! Everything looked good except there was protein in my urine. My blood pressure was ok, so for now I guess everything is alright. We just need to watch that. 6 1/2 weeks to go!

Harder than I thought

It's not easy to remember to take pictures every day. I missed yesterday even tho I spent the day with Megan....Dang. I pretty much forgot today until now, so I just have a couple of very random.

Menu Plan Monday ~ Week of June7

I have sort of a menu planned this week. Sort of............

Monday ~ Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Corn
Tuesday ~ Enchiladas, beans, rice
Wednesday ~ Chicken Teriyaki
Thursday ~ I think we are grilling at a friend's house after Trent's baseball game.
Friday ~ Chicken Stromboli
Saturday ~ Tommy's birthday!! We will probably go out.
Sunday ~ Whatever you can find you can eat!

A bunch of nuthin......

I did nothing today. Absolutely nothing. Oh wait, I take that back, I unloaded the dishwasher and then loaded it again. That is it. I had great plans to get lots of stuff done today, but it didn't happen. Tommy was in rare form today. He wasn't bad per say, just really CRAZY! He pretty much looked like this all day.....




I am very very much looking forward to tomorrow. My friend Megan, who currently lives in Germany, is coming to spend the day with me! YAY! I can't wait to see her! Hopefully I will get some good pictures.

Taking Picutres!

My sweet friend Alisa, over at The Sweet Life, had a great idea for taking pictures. Most of us take pictures of the big events that happen over the summer (birthdays, parties, NEW BABIES!!, etc,) but tend not to take pictures of our everyday wonderfulness. She is having a link party all summer, and encouraging us to take a few pictures everyday of just whatever we happen to be doing. I am really excited to do this! Every year I make a picture calender for the grandparents, and last time I had a hard time filling it up. I had lots of pictures, but not as much as I usually do. I can't wait to get started!!



I actually started taking pictures on Thursday for this, so I will go ahead an post Thursday and Friday now.....

~ 8 weeks to go. Just so you know!

~ Saturday we spent the day at Clinton Lake fishing. Like, the entire day. We even took our little grill and ate grilled hot dogs, and surprisingly, I didn't hate it. I was sure I would be ready to leave after the first hour due to the heat, but I was able to put my chair in the lake and have my feet in the water, and that was really nice. I enjoyed the sun while reading magazines and watching my bobber. We eventually left that evening because I was becoming concerned with the SNAKES that were trying to sneak up on my children.....

~ Yesterday I spent ALL day cleaning.... Yeah that's right. I took full advantage of Hubby being home to help with stuff I don't like doing, and managed to get the house looking pretty decent. My feet were way swollen by the end of the day, but the house is in order and just needs the everyday upkeep.

~ I don't have a menu this week because my brain isn't functioning and I can't think past today. Hopefully my mind will come back to me eventually.

~ I am still looking for way cute butterfly decorations. I haven't really been actively looking, but I need to. I also would LOVE to find baby green material/curtains with butterflies on them. The other day when I was in the baby's room, I actually thought to myself, "WOW this is A LOT of pink!!" I love it, but we may need to throw another color in there to offset. :)

~ Trent's baseball games start this week. This is his first year of sports and so far he has liked it at practice. I just hope he continues to like it.

~ I only have two 2 week appointments with my OB and then it's every week. Did I mention this baby will be here in 8 weeks (if not before.....)!?!?!?
